Situated right on the banks of the Mississippi River just north of Lake Cormorant, the 41 acre Hernando DeSoto Park, (formerly Bass Landing), is DeSoto County’s only public access to the River. This park is a collaborative effort by DeSoto County Board of Supervisors, the Yazoo-Mississippi Delta Levee Board, and the Mississippi Wildlife Fisheries and Parks. The park is closed from ½ hour after sunset until ½ hour before sunrise except for persons holding a valid overnight use permit. Located at 3737 Baldwin Road N., Lake Cormorant, MS 38641 (It runs parallel to Johnson Creek.)The Johnson Creek Greenway features a 1.79-mile paved pedestrian and bike trail.
